NEVER FEAR: LEATHER

SALMA HAYEK PINAULT

there's a lot going on here !!

first, please understand, do NOT fear leather - - > EVER.

leather,  i believe can - and should - be a staple in everyone's closet. i present this picture to show that leather, while notoriously black, for the young/reckless set  & usually found lurking in the seedy smoke haze of the club scene, can actually be quite refined in a different color palette and in sleeker silhouettes.

take on the above look, and that’s not all. what else can it be? Answer: a sheath (above), a blazer (even the slightly-distressed style), a pencil skirt, perhaps....!! all of these, in leather, pump up an outfit instantaneously. GO FOR IT.

and know this: the synthetic cousins of leather are all acceptable too. i have heard again&again, the woes of leather from my mother dearest! i could have gone my whole life without knowing the term "rump sprung"? have you heard of this term? to some one of my era, this is most likely a urban rap term, whereas my mother explained it is the term for ruined leather pants, all stretched out in the back. well, well, well! times have changed. keep an eye out for leather substitutes, aka, synthetics, faux-leather & the waxed effect. while not only kinder to your wallet, these new blends replicate the look of leather while allowing the much desired "give" in fabric and resilience to bounce back.

let the “rump sprung” remain a dance floor move, while you glide through the city in your new, edgier look.

Enjoy, and let me know how it goes for you ;)
